Abstract

Palm oil is the main commodities of the plantation products of palm oil. High product of palm oil will result higher oil mill effluents. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of adding fillers palm shell charcoal on some glue spreads on the physical and mechanical properties of plywood in order to improve the quality of plywood. Plywood which using adhesive mix with oil palm shell charcoal generally has been fulfilled SNI 06-0060-1998 for general use of plywood, and SNI 01-5008.7-1999 for the use of structural plywood. Plywood with added glue spreads and fillers comply qualify of interior I and II while the value of Modulus of Elasticity and Modulus of rupture get many varies. Based on the test results, the best quality plywood glue spread 300 g/m2 and filler 12%.
