Nilai dan manfaat ekonomi keberadaan Taman Kota Menteng, Jakarta Pusat sebagai salah satu bentuk pemanfaatan ruang terbuka hijau

Abstract

The availability of land for open green space (OGS) in Jakarta competes with other development sector such as infrastructure, building, and property. This condition will affect environmental degradation. Therefore, DKI Jakarta Government tend to increase the number of OGS. One of the government effort was building Menteng Urban Park in Central Jakarta which was originally a sport area of Persija Football Stadium. The development concept was expected to harmonize three functions of the Menteng Park; ecological functions, social and cultural functions, and aesthetics functions. On the other side, the existence of Menteng Urban Park that draws visitors was expected to be economically beneficial for people, especially for entrepreneurs who will see it as job opportunity. The economic value of the existence of Menteng Urban Park was counted with apply willingnes to pay (WTP) by using the contingent valuation method (CVM). Other economic benefit can be seen from the contribution of the labors creation, raise income of community, and did the income which generate from the Menteng Urban Park is the main income. This research aimed to confirm whether the essential value of Menteng Urban Park for the society is suitable with the intention and the objective of government, since the footbal stadium was convert urban park.
