Water is common good and one of environmental services produced by forest. Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park (TNGGP) as Nature Preserve Area (KPA) has great potential of water resources over 548,960,480 m3/year (Rushayati 2006). Publics can use water resources without fee; though, the excessive and unwisely water uses can lead to decreasing its quality and quantity. Moreover, there are no technical rules which can be used as a guide to evaluate water utilization in KPA’s areas. The study objectives are to analyze mechanism of water utilization; to study sustainability status of water utilization; and to construct guidance in management of water utilization in TNGGP. This research was conducted in TNGGP focused to Bogor regency area. Data and facts were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively in order to achieve the research objectives. Furthermore, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to determine weight of sustainability dimensions. The results reveal that the mechanism of water utilization is managed through partnership concept, yet it is not run very well due to there is no regulation at higher level that specifically regulates compensation mechanisms for environmental services. The direct water utilization in TNGGP for Bogor regency applies sustainability principle and its status is Sustainable with the sustainability index value 76.06%.
