Identifikasi Kebutuhan Kayu Bakar Menurut Asal pada Industri Gula Kelapa di Kecamatan Wangon Kabupaten Banyumas Jawa Tengah

Abstract

Banyumas District is a central industry of coconut palm sugar. One region that produces the most coconut palm sugar product is Wangon Sub-District. The demand of coconut palm sugar as raw materials on the household consumption and food industry is increasing which also effects the needs of firewood. This research aims to identify the source of firewood that is used, to identify the technique to obtain firewood, to calculate the needs of firewoods that is used in the coconut palm sugar industry, and to calculate the firewood potential at Wangon Sub-District. This research was done by direct observation to the coconut palm sugar producers and the collected data was analyzed by descriptive method. The result of this research shows that the main fuel on the processing of coconut palm sugar was obtained from the society forest and the addition was obtained from the states forest. Based on the geographic origin, firewoods which were obtained from inside the village and inside the sub-district is as much as 92%, firewood obtained from outside the village and inside the sub-district is as much as 6% and firewood obtained from outside the village and outside the sub-district is as much as 2%. Producers which obtained firewoods by collecting and trimming is as much as 64%, while firewoods obtained by buying is as much as 36%. Firewood potential which is available at Wangon Sub-District is 180.195,05 m3. The needs of firewood for coconut palm sugar industry at Wangon Sub-District is 10.888,03 m3/year. This research shows that the firewood potential can fulfill the needs of firewood for 16.55 years with unchanged number of stands.
