Perancangan Galeri Terbuka pada Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)
Abstract
The monotonous of galleries in Indonesia led to the lack of special space for outdoor art works exhibition. This study is required to create new work in the field of landscape architecture in the form of gallery design with a different concept. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the kind of art that can be displayed in the open gallery requirements then develop the design concept of open gallery as an example of the new show room by designing open gallery at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). The methods used in this study through two approaches including social approaches such as interview and questionnaire then biophysical approaches such as observation, spatial analysis, analysis of the carrying capacity and climate analysis. Open gallery is a form of show room that can accommodate a variety of art activities in open spaces such as exhibition of the installation art works, sculpture, street art, and other various works of art that can not be exhibited in the indoor gallery. Open gallery also has support spaces for exhibition such as art performance space, workshop and discussion space, art shops, cafeteria as well as warehouse.
