Hubungan Kecerdasan Emosi – Sosial Terhadap Gaya dan Praktik Kepemimpinan Ketua Lembaga Kemahasiswaan Institut Pertanian Bogor
Abstract
This study was aimed to determine the correlation between emotional-social intelligence with leadership styles and practices. The research was conducted at IPB during June 2012, involved 94 student’s during the period of 2011-2012 that chose using census technique (however 2 students could not joint the research). Data was analyzed using descriptive and inference statistics such as Pearson correlation and Chi-Square analysis. Results showed that emotional-social intelligence of chairmen were in high category. Styles of leadership were relatively democratic style, while the dominant leadership practice were in high category. Pearson correlation test result showed a positive relationship existed significantly between emotional-social intelligence and leadership practices. In the other hand, emotional intelligence (emotional awareness, emotion management, and total emotional intelligence) and social intelligence (social awareness, social facilities, and total social intelligence) was negatively correlated with laissez faire style of leadership.
