STRATEGI BERTAHAN PELAKU SEKTOR INFORMAL : Peranan Modal Sosial Migran Pedagang Kaki Lima di Sekitar Kebun Raya Bogo

Abstract

The informal sector is able to absorb a relatively large number of unskilled migrant-labor. The number of in-migrant into Bogor area is continued to increase from time to time and to cause the development of informal sector, particularly the street vendor or PKL (Pedagang Kaki Lima). The migrant street vendors usually start a business by utilizing the social capital they had, for example,their relatives or friends of the same origin villages. Later on, their networking will expand to other groups that related to their business, such as raw material suppliers. The migrant street vendors rely on the social capital they owned to survive their business. This study was based on a survey and in-depth interview to 40 street vendors around Bogor Botanical Gardens
