The accuracy of fire occurrence indicator and identification of background of forest fire causes in Tebo Regency Jambi Province
Abstract
Land and forest fires are the natural disasters that often occur in Indonesian regions, especially Sumatera and Kalimantan. The disasters cause deep impacts to environments and human beings, so it is necessary to conduct mitigation. The objective of the research is to measure the accuracy of hotspot and identify background of forest fires causes. The analyzes were conducted by using hotspot data, groundcheck data field, and interview data. The research consist of : GIS analysis, identification hotspot, correlation analysis, and weighting analysis. The results of the research show that the highest distribution hotspot in Tebo Regency found in dry months are July (71 point), August (130 point) and September (111 point). The highest average accuracy groundcheck to hotspot found in August of about 25,8%. Land area most commonly found hotspot is forest area that 242 hotspot point. And the main reason people burning forest is land preparation for oil palm and rubber plantations.
