Fish Stock Assessment of Threadfin Bream (Nemipterus japonicus, Bloch 1791) in The Gulf of Banten landed on PPN Karangantu, Banten

Abstract
Threadfin Bream have a high economic value so that it becomes one of the main targets in the fisheries. The purpose of this study was to assess the condition of the Threadfin Bream stock in the Gulf of Banten. The research was conducted in May to August 2012. The total number of fish taken during the study were 713 individuals. The results showed that Threadfin Bream have allometrik negative growth with a size of first mature gonads 213 mm. The exploitation rate of Threadfin Bream have exceeded the optimum exploitation rate, so Threadfin Bream in the Gulf of Banten has experienced over exploitation. Assessment of Threadfin Bream stock in the Gulf of Banten base on Fox models with optimum efforts to 1442 units per year and MSY 135 tonnes per year and allowable catch was 97 tonnes per year. Management that can be suggested is through setting the mesh sizes dogol and fishing effort in order to reach sustainable use and continuable. Ikan kurisi memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi sehingga menjadi salah satu sasaran utama dalam perikanan tangkap. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji kondisi stok ikan kurisi di Perairan Teluk Banten. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei hingga Agustus 2012. Jumlah total ikan yang diambil selama penelitian mencapai 713 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan kurisi memiliki pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif dengan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad 213 mm. Laju eksploitasi ikan kurisi telah melebihi laju eksploitasi optimum sehingga ikan kurisi di Perairan Teluk Banten diduga telah mengalami tangkap lebih. Kajian stok ikan kurisi di Teluk Banten berdasarkan model Fox diperoleh upaya optimum 1442 unit per tahun dan hasil tangkapan maksimum lestari 135 ton per tahun sehingga jumlah tangkapan yang diperbolehkan 97 ton per tahun. Pengelolaan yang dapat disarankan adalah melalui pengaturan ukuran mata jaring dogol dan pengaturan upaya penangkapan untuk mencapai pemanfaatan yang lestari dan berkelanjutan.
