      Abstract
Breeding of upland rice is now directed towards new plant type (NPT) architecture. NPT rice lines have been obtained from anther culture and need to be evaluated in multilocation trials. The objectives of the research were to obtain information on agronomic characters, genetic parameters, yield potential, adaptability and stability of the lines. Ten lines and two cultivars were planted at seven different location in November 2010 – March 2011. In each location, the experimental design was randomized complete block design with four replications. Observation was done on agronomic characters such as plant height, number of vegetative tiller and productive tiller, panicle length, number of filled grains per panicle, empty grains per panicle, and total grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight, grain weight per plant and yield per hectar. The results showed FM1R-1-3-1 and Fat-4-1-1 rice lines has grain weight per plant 20.3 and 18.2 grams/plant respectively and other agronomic characters that were better than eight other lines. Genotype x environmental interaction factors contributed to variance by 16.6%. The highest productivity was achieved by FM1R-1-3-1 (4.52 ton/ha). FM1R-1-3-1 showed as genotype specifically adapted to favourable environments.
