Key factor analysis of brown planthopper nilaparvata lugens stal population outbreak in Klaten Regency

Abstract

Population outbreak of brown plant hopper, Nilaparvata lugens, occured agains in 2010-2011 due to undeterminated keyfactors. Surveillance involving landscape-based observation and farmer interview has been conducted in order to analysize environmental factors and agricultural practices related to population outbreak in Klaten Regency. Key factors related pest outbreak in Klaten regency are rice varieties, presence of predators asa well as entomopathogenic fungi and colonization of endophytic fungi in rice, presence of other pests, active ingredient of insecticides, interval of spyaying and nitrogen fertilizer.
