      Abstract
      Various types of wood from the forests and lands owned by community, hopefully can be used as commercial timbers for constructions or furnitures. However, it should be supported by technology that can improve the properties of woods, one of them is preservation which makes wood more resistant to biodeterioration. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of temperatures and periods of soaking on the retention and penetration of preservative Diffusol CB and their influence to the mechanical properties of kecapi wood (Sandoricum koetjape), rambutan wood (Nephelium lappaceum), and nangka wood (Arthocarpus heterophyllus).
       
      Berbagai jenis kayu dari hutan yang berasal dari lahan milik rakyat di harapkan, dapat dimanfaatkan sebagaimana kayu komersil untuk konstruksi atau furniture. Namun, untuk itu perlu didukung oleh teknologi yang dapat memperbaiki sifat-sifatnya, salah satunya adalah pengawetan kayu sehingga lebih tahan terhadap biodeteriorisasi yang dapat merusak kayu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan suhu dan waktu perendaman panas dingin terhadap retensi dan penetrasi bahan pengawet Diffusol CB serta sifat mekanis kayu kecapi (Sandoricum koetjape), kayu rambutan (Nephelium Lappaceum), dan kayu nangka (Arthocarpus heterophyllus).
