      Abstract
The limitation of natural forest wood makes the demand for public forest wood increases. As we know, quality of public forest wood as a structural material is still low. However, that can be overcome with the manufacture of Cross Laminated Timber products. CLT is created by arranging 3 to 7 laminas crossed and then glued and compressed hydraulically on the entire surface or can be nailed. One of modification CLT product is doing combination of lamina thickness and orientation angle. This study was aimed to explain and determine the effect of thickness combination and orientation angle to the characteristic of physical and mechanical properties of manii (Maesopsis eminii, Engl) CLT panels using nails (CLT-Nails). Materials used were manii boards and nails with 2.7 mm in diameter and 5.1 mm in length. The result of physical properties of CLT-Nails showed that the average distribution of density and shrinkage for any thickness combination and orientation angle relatively uniform or not significantly different, respectively from 0.40-0.47 g/cm3 and 4.28-6.67%. That’s contrast with moisture content and swelling which quite fluctuating, respectively from 14.64-16.49% and 2.42-6.34%. A3B4 and A1B5 panel has the highest water content levels, each one 16.46% and 16.49%.
