Rabbit broiler were developed by crossing Flemish Giant and Reza rabbits (37.5% Flemish Giand; 62.5% Reza) and selected for slaughter age at 10 weeks. Selection is expected to improve and homogenize their body weight to produce selected FZ3 rabbit populations have body weight on 10 weeks of age more than 1.5 kg/head. Base population in this study was made by mating 50 heads of does and 10 head of bucks of FZ3. This mating produced offspring that have as many as 281 heads with average body weight 1,325.21 ± 317.31 g/head of 10 weeks of age. Selection in rabbits with a body weight above the average yield unselected population comprising 60 heads of does and 12 heads of bucks with a body weight at age 10 weeks was 1,515.38 ± 256.32 g/head. Estimation of heritability value using nested method (Becker, 1984), the selection differential by subtracting the average of selected population with population base and the estimated response toselection by Martojo (1992). Selection with criteria of weight at 10 weeks of age to establish the broiler rabbits has done on FZ3 rabbits. Base population with average body weight at the age of 10 weeks was 1,325.21 ± 317.31 g/head and selected populations with average body weight of 1,515.38 ± 256.32 g/head. Selection was decreased variation of body weight of 10 weeks of age from 23.94% to 16.92%. Estimated value of heritability of 10 weeks of body weight of 0.43 ± 0.12. Estimation of selection response in fillial of selected FZ3 rabbits was 81.77 g/head (190.17 g x 0.43), so it can be presumed that average body weight at 10 weeks of age of filial of selected FZ3 rabbits was 1406.78 g/head (1,325.21 + 81.77 g/head).
