      Abstract
This study was aimed to examine the effect of different barn type on doe Etawah grade behavior at Simpay Tampomas farm, Sumedang. The study used 16 goats (52.81 ± 5.49 kg) at the age of 2.5 – 3.0 years old. The doe Etawah grade behaviors observed were at the different time: morning (6:00 am to 8:00 am), early afternoon (12:00 am - 02:00 pm), and late afternoon (04:00 pm to 06:00 pm). The treatments were types of stages: ground stage and stable stage. Parameters observed were eating behavior, vocalizations, allelomimetic, eliminative, and agonistic. The Mann Whiteney and Friedman test were used to analyzed difference of frequency, while duration and physiology data were analyzed by using T test to analyzed animal behavior difference. The result showed that agonistic behavior mostly occurred in the morning, but eating behavior and vocalizations occurred in the afternoon, while allelomimetic behavior mostly occurred during early afternoon, either on stable or ground stage. The eliminative behavior had different characteristics. Goats in the stable stage presented more eliminative behavior in the early noon, while the ground stage the goat presented the behavior in the late noon. The heart rate and rectal temperature of goat in both cages in the morning were significantly different (P<0.01) from ones in the late noon. Heart rate of goats in the late noon was different (P<0.05) between stables stage, but was not different (P>0.05) for rectal temperature. In Conclusion overall behavior of goat on ground stage and stable stage were not significant different except frequency of agonistic behavior. Behavior Etawah of grade seen that the afternoon were prone to the existence of time that treatment more. The physiological response of Etawah grade the best, on the stable stage.
