      Abstract
      Attacus atlas is polyphagus and polyvoltine insect. This research larvae used three types of treatments, which were given of soursop (Annona muricata) leaves (control), canary (Canarium commune L.) leaves and jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) leaves. These leaves are available in various areas and have good nutrition content for growth of Attacus atlas larvae. Each treatment carried out with five replications. Variables measured were feed consumption, feed digestibility, absorption, growth, larvae stadia and mortality of Attacus atlas larvae from instar I until instar III. The result showed that the type of leaves significantly (P<0,05) affected the feed consumption, growth, feed digestibility and mortality of A.atlas larvae. The larvae that feed with jackfruit leaves had the lowest feed consumption, feed digestibility, feed absorption and highest mortality.
       
      Indonesia yang beriklim tropis memiliki keanekaragaman hayati yang melimpah termasuk berbagai jenis flora dan fauna. Salah satu kekayaan fauna yang dimiliki Indonesia yaitu ulat sutera. Ulat sutera liar yang ada terdiri atas Cricula trifenestrata, Antheraea mylita dan Attacus atlas. Indonesia memiliki delapan spesies Attacus yang tersebar hampir di seluruh wilayah Indonesia. Saat ini pengembangan usaha persuteraan ulat sutera liar masih terbatas di beberapa daerah seperti Yogyakarta dan Jawa Barat. Budidaya ulat sutera liar ini layak dikembangkan karena ulat sutera ini bersifat polivoltin (lebih dari dua generasi dalam satu tahun) dan polifagus (memakan beberapa jenis daun), sehingga mudah dalam pemeliharaan dan waktu produksi yang singkat. Hal tersebut menjadi alasan dilakukannya penelitian menggunakan pemberian pakan alternatif yaitu daun sirsak, kenari dan nangka. Jenis pakan yang berbeda akan memberikan pengaruh langsung terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertumbuhan larva dan mortalitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh langsung dari pemberian ketiga jenis daun tersebut terhadap konsumsi pakan, kecernaan pakan, pakan tercerna, pertumbuhan dan mortalitas larva A. atlas instar I-III di dalam ruangan.
