Pengembangan Perikanan Purse Seine Di PPI Blanakan Subang

Abstract

In a way to discover how to develop a sustainable fishing industry, it’s necessary to studying it through multiple aspects such as biological, engginering, social and economic. Purpose of this research is to doing a feasibility study of purse seine fishery business and also describe the performance of purse seine fishery in PPI Blanakan Subang, West Java. Blanakan village have a fairly fisheries economic activity, marked by busy fisheries auction. The common fishing gear in PPI Blanakan Subang is purse seine. The method used in this research is descriptive method with case study type, while respondents sampling method used was purposive sampling. The purse seine vessels used as sample in research have dimension with provison, length: 15-20 m, width: 5-6 m, dept: 2-3 m draft: 0,75-1,5 m. Fish agregating device is also used in purse seine operation, while fishing base location is in Java Sea, 60-100 miles from shorline with a depth over 40 meters. Composition of purse seine catches are dominated by small pelagic fish include: Fish Seads (Decapterus spp.), Black Pomfret (Formio niger), Indo-pacific Mackerels (Rastrelliger spp.), Trevally (Selaroides spp.), Fringescalles Sardinella (Sardinella fimbriata), Eastern Title Tuna (Euthynnus spp.) and Squid (Loligo spp.). The requirements investment costs to start is Rp 398.350.000,00. Fixed costs that must be paid every year is Rp 124.795.000,00. Variable costs bear by owner each year is Rp 394.380.000,00. Total Revenue (TR) acquired during the year amounted to Rp 1.149.478.923,18 and the Total Cost (TC) issued during the year amounted to Rp 925.461.434,67 so Profits (π) obtained by owner for one year of Rp 224.017.448,51. Based on calculations from the analysis effort and investment has been made then this bussines is still profitable and feasible to be developed, so that may be a consideration if some entrepreneurs interested in starting businesses purse seine fishery.
