Studi Kasus Patologi Mikobakteriosis pada Ikan Paradise (Macropodus opercularis)
Abstract
Paradise fish (Macropodus opercularis) from ornamental fish distributor Ciluar, Bogor were found with ascites and dermal ulcer. Histopathologically, granulomatous inflammation in various phase was found in gill, subcutis, intestine, liver, and kidney. Some bacteria were observed in those granuloma. The characteristic Gram staining was positive for the bacteria. Ziehl Neelsen (ZN) staining was revealed the acid fast rods bacteria. With these characters of bacteria, Mycobacterium sp. was suspected as a pathogen in this case. Mycobacterium sp. is reported as a pathogen causing granulomatous disease in freshwater and saltwater fish. Mycobacterium species which cause a disease in fish are M. marinum, M. fortuitum, and M. chelonae. Those hematogenous route produce systemic infection and potensial to be zoonotic.
