      Abstract
      This research was conducted from January-June 2012 at Teaching Farm Tajur and Postharvest Laboratory Baranang Siang, PKHT-IPB-Bogor. The objective of this research was to study the morphological characters of flowers, fruit, and fruit quality of three genotypes of hybrid papaya IPB H91, IPB H93, and IPB H39. The parameters were the qualitative and quantitative character of flowers and fruit, physical and chemical quality of fruit and organoleptic test. The result of the research showed that three genotypes of hybrid papaya had different superior characters. IPB H91 had long flower stalks, a high flower number per stem and fruits, high fruit flesh weight, edible portion, and flesh thickness, hard flesh firmness, and low total titrated acid. IPB H93 had many high flower number, low seed number per fruits and high total soluble solid. IPB H39 had short distance between the segment, hard fruit peel firmness and high vitamin C content. Organoleptic test showed that IPB H39 had shape and taste more preferred by panelist. IPB H91 can be alternative to get hybrid papaya because had more superior characters at generative phase than other genotype
