      Abstract
      Nowadays, woods as raw materials of boat or ship are getting rare and expensive. Information about the procedure of making a boat with fiberglass material are still very little published in scientific journal. The research which was held on March - July 2012 provides an alternative solution for both the problems by the process of design and construction of a fiberglass catamaran boat based on reference BKI. Data processing done with method of numerical consisting of naval architecture formulas used to obtain the value of hydrostatic parameter a ship research. Analysis data has done by comparing value of ship ratio dimensions. Manufacturing of a fiberglass catamaran boat has begun with making boat's design, boat's model, boat's mould and the boat. The design of catamaran boat has primary dimension: Length (LOA), Breadth (B), Depth (D) and distance between hull are: 4 meters; 1,9 meters; 0,55 meters and 1 meter. The complements of this boat are chairs, engine, palka, fishing rods storage, accumulator room, tools room and reserve buoyancy room, fastener between hull, storage room and wide working area. The construction of catamaran boat completed with rib and board as supporting of transverse and lengthways boat strength. Reserve buoyancy has made in this boat to decrease sinking risk.
       
      Bahan baku kayu pembuat perahu/kapal semakin langka dan mahal. Informasi tentang cara pembuatan perahu berbahan dasar fiberglass pun masih sangat sedikit yang dipublikasikan dalam bentuk karya ilmiah. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Juli 2012 ini memberikan alternatif solusi untuk kedua permasalahan tersebut melalui proses desain dan konstruksi perahu katamaran fiberglass berdasarkan rujukan BKI. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan metode numeric berupa formula-formula naval architecture untuk mendapatkan nilai parameter hidrostatis dari kapal yang diteliti. Analisis data dilakukan dengan membandingkan nilai rasio dimensi kapal. Pembuatan perahu katamaran fiberglass diawali dengan pembuatan desain perahu, pembuatan model perahu, pembuatan cetakan perahu dan pembuatan perahu. Desain perahu katamaran yang dibuat memiliki dimensi utama sebagai berikut: panjang (LOA), lebar (B), dalam (D) dan jarak antar lambung secara berurutan yaitu : 4 meter; 1,9 meter; 0,55 meter dan 1 meter. Adapun kelengkapan perahu katamaran ini antara lain: kursi, tempat umpan, mesin, palka, tempat alat pancing, tempat accu, lampu, tempat peralatan dan ruang reserve buoyancy. Konstruksi perahu katamaran ini dilengkapi dengan gading-gading dan galar sebagai penunjang kekuatan melintang dan memanjang dari perahu. Cadangan daya apung/reserve buoyancy didesain pada perahu ini untuk memperkecil resiko tenggelam.
