      Abstract
Avian Influenza is one of the zoonotic disease which is very dangerous and not yet to be controlled optimally. The aim of this resarch was to observe the potency of black turmeric (Curcuma aeroginosa Roxb.) extract in preventing the infection of H5N1 virus through liver and kidney histopathologycal discriptions. This research used Cobb strain of Broiler which were devided into 4 groups included K1 (extract treatment), K2 (no extract treatment and no virus infection), P1 (extract treatment and virus infection), and P2 (virus infection). Black turmeric extract was given to Broiler during 3 weeks in postal system cage and then the Broiler were infected by H5N1 virus in Biosafety Laboratory level 3 facilities. The quantitative data obtained by scoring and then were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis and Dunn test. The result revealed that the death of Broiler which were treated with Curcuma aeroginosa Roxb. extract and were infected with H5N1 virus could be obstructed. The histopathological lesions such as hemorrhage, inflammatory focuse, necrose in liver, and also inflammatory focuse and necrose in kidney could be reduced.
