Abstract

Forest ecosystem as an unity, provides many benefits to human survival, especially for communities around the forest, either in the form of timber and non timber forest products. Utilization of forest resources by the communities surrounding the forest is one form of interaction that occurs between the forest areas and the people. Forest benefits can easily be felt by communities around the forest, as perceived by the community surround Buniwangi Village, Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi. To know the value of forest resources benefits for the community needed a primary and secondary data. Data processing method based on the method of assessment of the economic benefits from the utilization of forest resources by the community. Assessment is based on 3 ways, methods of assessment based on market prices, valuation methods based on the price of substitute goods, valuation based on the cost of procurement and repairment method.
