Potensi Ekstrak Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata Nees) Untuk Menanggulangi Virus Avian Influenza H5N1 Pada Ayam Broiler : Gambaran Histopatologi Organ Paru-Paru

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the potency of sambiloto extract to eliminate the Avian Influenza H5N1 virus infection in chicken and to observe the histopathology of lungs. Sambiloto extract was given orally in Pathology Laboratory during three weeks and then chicken were infected with Avian Influenza H5N1 virus intranasal 104.0 x EID50 / 0.1 ml dosage in BSL 3 facility. The results showed that mild tissue destruction mostly found such as hemorrhage and vasculitis. This study concluded that sambiloto exctract has a potency to reduce the tissue destruction in lungs after challanging with Avian Influenza H5N1 virus.
