      Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the hormone thyroxine (T4) and recombinant growth hormone (rGH) through immersion method on variability of sutchi catfish fry. This research was using factorial completely randomized design with two factor is T4 doses (0, 0.01, 0.05, and 0.10 mg/L) and rGH doses (0 and 10 mg/L). All treatment was repeated three times. Catfish fry used had an average total length of 3.2±0.2 cm and body weight 0.27±0.07 g. Frys immersed in a solution of hormones for 1 hour, then were reared for 15 days and fed pellet on 10% of the fish biomass. The results showed that any given hormone treatment did not impact significantly different (P>0.05) on growth (T1 4.7 cm; T2 4.7 cm; T3 4.7 cm; GT1 4.7 cm; GT2 4.8 cm; GT3 4.8 cm; rGH 4.6 cm) and survival rate (T1 97.73%; T2 97.33%; T3 97.07%; GT1 96.27%; GT2 95.47%; GT3 98.13%; rGH 97.60%) compared to the control (4.6 cm; 98%). Treatments GT2 (145%) and GT3 (147%) showed feed efficiency significantly different (P<0.05) compared to the control (141%), T1 (135%), T2 (134%), T3 (130%), GT1 (140%), and rGH (131%). Thus, a compound of the hormone (T4 and rGH) give the best feed efficiency.
