The Effectiveness of Communication in the Formation of Public Opinion about PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. (Case Study: Jatropha curcas linn Planting Project at Lulut Village, Klapanunggal Subdistrict, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia)
Efektivitas Komunikasi dalam Pembentukan Opini Publik Tentang PT.Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. (Kasus Proyek Tanaman Jarak Pagar (Jatropha curcas linn) di Desa Lulut, Kecamatan Klapanunggal, Kabupaten Bogor, Provinsi Jawa Barat)
Abstract
The objectives of this research are: (1) To identify the strategy of PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. for establishing its effective communication (2) To analyze the correlation between individual factors and environmental factors on the effectiveness of communication of PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. and (3) To analyze the correlation between the effectiveness of communication in the Jatropha curcas linn Planting Project with the formation of public opinion about PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. This research has been conducted by using survey method completed with its quantitative data in the form of questionnaires and supported by qualitative method consisting of in-depth interview and document analysis technique. In addition, a qualitative method aims to gain in-depth understanding related to the data which has been obtained from quantitative method. The effectiveness point of communication in this research that has been examined is refers to “public understanding”. Furthermore, the public opinion which is discussed in this research refers to public opinion about the existence of PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. as a whole and its activity concerning to the Jatropha curcas linn Planting Project particularly viewed from economic, social, and environmental aspects. The results of this research could be inferred that the effectiveness of communication is ineffective due to the lack of respondents’ understanding and the public opinion about PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk which is formed among respondents is negative based on this research.
