Kajian Kesesuaian Lahan Tanaman Cengkeh (Eugenia aromatica L.) Berdasarkan Aspek Agroklimat dan Kelayakan Ekonomi (Studi Kasus Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan)
Abstract
Indonesian plantations are increasingly expanding and making progress so as to support the government programs in Indonesia agricultural development is necessary, especially the plantation area of clove plantations which have many benefits and uses for the community. The development of this commodity area should be done in the Eastern region of Indonesia because the area still has a lot of potential land that has not been optimized. The development of this area should be determined by using several parameters and technology. Parameters used by each researcher vary, depending on the point of view of researchers in view of the scope of the commodity in question. In this study, researchers used four parameters in determining the suitability of the clove plantations of rainfall, air temperature, soil depth, and slope with technological applications using Arcview software. This areas aiming to find out the suitability of the clove crop land in South Sulawesi province and the level of effectiveness in investing in land. The method used in this study is data from the study area of research (South Sulawesi) matched with other data (rainfall, air temperature, soil depth, and slope) and land that has the potential for clove plants are matched with land cover conditions that are in the study area, and at the final stage, which can be developed land is assessed value of its economic feasibility. The results of analysis of this study indicate that the region of South Sulawesi, there are three land suitability, land suitability among the S1, S2, and S3. Total area fitness area has potential for extension based on the suitability of clove plants Agro-climate and the closure of its land in the amount of 26.743 km2. Size is divided into three parts namely S1 registration area 1.897 km2, S2 area of 23.120 km2, and S3 registration area 990 km2. In addition, the region still has the potential areas of land for plantation development is a form of forest land with an area of 8.694 km2. These three land suitability has feasibility of investment in net profit in the S1 field with the present value of Rp 26.841.000/ha, 30,1% IRR, and BCR of 2,16. Net profit in the land S2 Rp 16.864.000/ha, 24% IRR, and BCR of 1,73%, while net profit on the land S3 Rp 2.723.000/ha. Areas of land which became the main development priorities with high-priority land present in six districts namely Wajo, Jeneponto, Sinjai, Bulukumba, Barru, and Bone.
