Parasit Dalam Sel Darah Merah Anjing Ras Doberman dan Labrador Retriever

Abstract

This research was conducted to know infection of parasite in erythrocyte of Doberman and Labrador Retriever dogs at Kelapa Dua Depok. Seven Doberman’s blood smear and seven Labrador Retriver’s blood smear were stained by Giemsa 10% and examined under 1000 X magnificence. The result of examination showed that the dog were positively infected by Babesia sp. and Theileria sp. The average percentation of Babesia sp. and Theileria sp. in Doberman dogs were (0.6857±0.19518)% and (0.6486±0.29300)%, respectively. Meanwhile the average percentation of Babesia sp.,and Theileria sp. in Labrador Retriever dogs were (0.6771±0.10350)% and (0.6857±0.09619)%. In general, the parasitemia in those dogs were in mild reaction (<1%).
