      Abstract
This study was conducted to identify the volatil compounds of essential oils from Indonesia and its comparison with national or international standards. Essential oils for the research were nutmeg oil, patchouli oil, vetiver oil, java citronellal, cananga oil, ylang-ylang oil, terpentin oil, fresh ginger oil, kaffir lime leaf oil and black pepper oil. The samples were analized by Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectromety (GC-MS) for identification of their volatil compounds. The result of the research showed that quantitative data based on area of chromatogram of Sulawesi and Java nutmeg oil fulfilled the specification of flavor and fragrant multi national company standard. Sulawesi, Java and Sumatra patchouli oil fullfilled the specification of International Standard based on the volatil compounds parameters. West Java vetiver oil fulfilled the specification of ISO standard based on the volatil compounds parameters. West Java terpentine oil fulfilled the specification of National standard for Standard Group based on the volatil compounds parameters. Java kaffir lime leaf oil fullfilled the specification of flavor and fragrant multi national company standard based on the volatil compounds parameters. Finally, Java citronelal oil fulfilled the specification of National Standard (SNI) based on the volatil compounds parameters.
