The survival of Aedes aegypti (Linn) after exposure of temephos at larval stage
Daya Tahan Hidup Nyamuk Aedes aegypti (Linn) Setelah Terpapar Temefos Pada Fase Larva
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of exposure to concentration of temephos upon the survival of Ae. aegypti. The temephos concentration used KL0 : 0,180 mg/liter, KL25 : 0,285 mg/liter, KL50 : 0,330 mg/liter, KL75 : 0,384 mg/liter; KL90: 0,433 mg/liter and control. The data were analyzed using descriptif, probit analysis and analysis of variance, if there were significant differences followed by Tuckey's mean test. The results show that the larvae and eggs abnormality, larvae activity decreased, while the larvae and pupae longevity were increased, but the lifespan of the adult stage become shorter. The adult stage fecundity decreased as well as the number of egg batches, however hatchability, ecdicis and eclotion also decreased. The adult female emergences was less than male after treated by temephos.
