The Tourism Potential And Its Integration In Area Development Of Payangan Agropolitan, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province

Abstract

Payangan Agropolitan is an area of agricultural development that has the tourism potential. Along with development of the agricultural sector, the tourism sector also developed. However, there were trends that agriculture sector forced by development of other sectors; one of them was the tourism sector. Thus, in further development need to be done in an integrated manner. Objectives of this research were: (1) To find out the relationship between tourism sector and others; (2) To find out the potential of tourist attractions to be developed in the region of Payangan Agropolitan; (3) Knowing the tourist's perception of the factors that affects tourist visitation to the Area of Payangan Agropolitan; (4) Formulate plans and strategies of integrated tourism development with area development of Payangan Agropolitan in the framework of area development. The results show that via linkage and multiplier effects analysis, the tourism was the main sector. Analysis on the tourism potential showed that the most preferred was naturerelated tourism. From analysis on the factors of tourist visit, there were five dominant influential factors, namely: services; tourism and attraction types; the available facilities; transportation facilities, and promotion. Furthermore, on the subsequent analysis obtained three main strategies in the integrated development of tourism with area development of Payangan Agropolitan, namely: improving the sectoral linkage with improving integration of inter-existing sectors via development of science and technology; introducing and offering the existing tourism potential with development of tourism packages via a partnership of government, private and public; and strengthening the tourism by establish partnerships and networks.
