Abstract
Marine fisheries activities at Ciamis Regency is supported by the fishing landing bases (PPI) spread out over 5 sub-district. Some of the activities in these PPI are landing and marketing of fish catches. Both of these activities require adequate facilities and careful handling because fish is a perishable commodity. The purpose of this research are to know the actual condition of the fishing ports, the activity of landing and marketing of fish catches in 5 locations of PPI at Ciamis Regency. This research used the survey method and descriptive data analysis. The results showed that fishing port facilities in 5 locations of PPI at Ciamis Regency is still very lacking. All of PPI at Ciamis Regency uses beach and estuary of the river as a place for landing of the fish catches. PPI Batu Karas has the most of number and volume of landing fish catches than the others. The fishes landed on all of PPI at Ciamis Regency are marketed through the fish-trading activity, except at PPI Pangandaran. The fishes are marketed for consumption of local communities around the PPI, inside and outside of the Ciamis Regency. Some types of fish that has high economic value such as shrimp, lobster and hairtails are exported to Japan, China and South Korea. NP/P ratio and relative value of production index gained PPI Kalipucang in 2010 is bigger than the others. This is because the fish were landed at this PPI are homogeneous, consisting only of lobster that has high economic value.
