This study aimed to investigate the diversity of parasitoid Hymenoptera morphospecies across different elevations and habitats, as well as to examine the diversity of plant secondary compounds in Gunung Halimun National Park.
Parasitoid Hymenoptera were collected from Mount Kendeng and Mount Botol in Gunung Halimun National Park using yellow pan traps, Malaise traps, and insect nets during June, July, and August 1999. Identification of parasitoid Hymenoptera was conducted up to the family level, while species-level identification was based on morphospecies classification. The diversity of morphospecies was analyzed using the Shannon diversity index and its evenness, the Williams diversity index, the Jaccard similarity index, and the Sørensen similarity index.
Analysis of plant secondary compounds—including alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, and steroids—was carried out qualitatively on 59 understory plant species collected from the park.
