      Abstract
Felis domesticus was originated from domestication of Felis silvestris (European wild cat). Usually, cats were utilized as pets and mice controller by humans. This study aimed to estimate cat diversity in three districts in Wonogiri based on morphological characters expressed by 11 loci: A~a, B~b~bl, C~cb~cs~ca~c, D~d, i~I, L~l, m~M, o~O, s~S, Ta~T~tb, and w~W. Estimation of allele frequencies were performed using square root and maximum likelihood methods. Heterozygosity (h) and average heterozygosity (Ĥ) were applied to determine alleles diversity. FST was used to estimate genetic diversity among three districts; Wonogiri, Ngadirojo, and Selogiri. Among 11 observed loci, new alleles that found were b, cs, d, I, l, tb, W. Mostly wild type allele revealed higher frequency than mutan type allele, except m~M locus. Heterozygosity (h) on each loci were A~a= 0.491, B~b= 0.294, C~cs= 0.167, D~d= 0.227, i~I= 0.021, L~l= 0.238, m~M= 0.501, o~O= 0.470, s~S= 0.499, Ta~T~tb= 0.311, and w~W= 0.002. The highest allele diversity (h) was revealed in m~M locus. Average heterozygosity (Ĥ) over 11 loci and 9 loci were 0.261 and 0.268, respectively. The difference of average heterozygosity (Ĥ) was due to allele distribution and influenced by geography. FST of A~a, B~b, C~cs, i~I, L~l, Ta~T~tb, and m~M loci were smaller than 0.05 meaning that low genetic diversity detected upon loci. The negative FST in D~d, o~O, s~S, and w~W loci indicated that there were no difference on genetic diversity.
