      Abstract
      Meteorology research activities in Indonesia have problem about weather data. Weather data is hard to be obtained because of the lack of meteorology stasion in Indonesia. Weather data generation can be done by using satellite data. One of The Tropical Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite data that can be used for weather data generation is 3B42 daily containing global daily rainfall value (50o LU - 50o LS). Format of 3B42 daily files are netCDF. NetCDF reading needs some additional function because Ms. Visual Basic 6 does not provide functions to read and write netCDF data. Functions of netCDF reading and writing can be gained from Dynamic-Link Library (DLL) file which is from Unidata. Functions in DLL file that is used are nc_open, nc_inq_dimid, nc_inq_dimlen, nc_inq_varid, nc_get_var _double, nc_close. Array variable will be come out as the result of netCDF reading using functions of netCDF reading. The array variable has two dimensions (longitude and latitude) containing rainfall values in mm/day. The array variable can be processed into ready used spatial data and time series data. Those data and elevation data (DEM SRTM) can generate other weather data such as sun shine duration, radiation, minimum temperature, maximum temperature, mean temperature, and relative humidity. The weather data generation is used empiric approach based on relationship among weather elements.
