      Abstract
      Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is one of the solutions of the transportation problems in urban area, which has an advanced public transport and good scheduling. This public bus transportation system is using certain road infrastructure. This paper develops optimization model to determine an optimal headway and velocity of the buses in order to improve the service quality. The optimization model has an objective to minimize the average of passenger’s waiting time. The model has the form of linear programming and is solved using software LINGO version 11.0. The simulation results for the case of Transjakarta operation at corridor 1 show that when headway decreases and velocity increases, the average of passenger’s waiting time will decrease. On the contrary, headway increases and velocity decreases, it will cause increases in the number of waiting passengers on some shelters
       
      Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) merupakan salah satu solusi masalah transportasi di daerah urban dengan sistem transportasi massal yang canggih dan terjadwal dengan baik. Sistem transportasi massal tersebut menggunakan bus dengan infrastruktur jalan yang khusus. Pada karya ilmiah ini akan dibangun suatu model optimasi untuk menentukan headway dan kecepatan bus yang optimal guna meningkatkan pelayanan kualitas pengoperasian bus. Secara spesifik, fungsi tujuan pada model optimasi yang dibangun adalah meminimumkan rata-rata waktu tunggu penumpang. Model optimasi tersebut merupakan suatu model linear programming dan diselesaikan dengan menggunakan software LINGO versi 11.0. Hasil simulasi untuk kasus pengoperasian Transjakarta koridor 1 menunjukkan bahwa headway yang diperkecil dan kecepatan yang diperbesar akan mengurangi nilai rata-rata waktu tunggu penumpang. Sebaliknya, headway yang diperbesar dan kecepatan yang diperkecil menyebabkan terjadinya peningkatan penumpang yang menunggu pada beberapa shelter
