      Abstract
      Galunggung Mountain has been erupted for several times, and the last eruption was in 1983-1984. Piroklastic materials and "lahar" was the results of Galunggung Mountain eruption. Piroklastic materials are materials with various size fraction that are erupted during the strong eruption, where as "lahar" is a volcanic mudflow especially during the high rainfalls.
       
      Gunung Galunggung memiliki ketinggian 2.168 m di atas permukaan laut. Gunung ini telah meletus beberapa kali, dan terakhir meletus pada tahun 1983- 1984. Basil letusan Gunung Galunggung berupa bahan piroklastik dan lahar. Bahan piroklastik merupakan bahan dari berbagai ukuran yang dimuntahkan pada saat erupsi vulkanik yang kuat, terdiri dari gelas kristal, pecahan kristal, dan batuan, sedangkan lahar adalah aliran lumpur vulkanik yang terdiri dari bahan piroklastik dan air yang mengalir dari gunung berapi.
