The Impacts of Fertilizers on Leaf Production and Root Development of Mulberry Cutting (Morus cathayana)
Pengaruh Pupuk terhadap Produksi Daun dan Perkembangan Akar Stek Murbei (Morus cathayana L.)
Abstract
To enable fulfill silken thread industrial demand, the government has to stimulate silkworm farmers to increase cocoon production. It can be reached through both intensification and establishment of new areas of mulberry plantation. Stem cutting and seeds maybe used as plant propagation of mulberry plant, but stem cutting is mostly used to reproduce of mulberry plant. A study entitled the Impacts of Fertilizers on Leaf Production and Root Development of Mulberry Cutting (Morus cathayana) was carried out. The aims of the study were to evaluate both leaf prouction and root development. To achieve the said aims, two separate experiments were carried out under glass house condition. There were several fertilizers used in the study namely the organic fertilizers, the M-Dext trademarked, animal manure, and liquid NASA and Hormonic trademarked, and the inorganic fertilizers namely Urea, TSP, and KCl. The following dossages of the organic fertilizers namely the mixture of 5 l MDext + 30 kg animal manure, 12 l M-Dext + 80 kg animal manure, 20 l M-Dext + 130 kg animal manure, 5 l NASA + 2.5 l Hormonic, 12 l NASA + 6 l Hormonic, 20 l NASA + 10 l Hormonic, and the dossages inorganic fertilizers namely the mixture of 25 kg Urea + 12.5 kg TSP + 12.5 kg KCl, 75 kg Urea + 37.5 kg TSP + 37.5 kg KCl, 125 kg Urea + 62.5 kg TSP + 62.5 kg KCl per hectare to be the treatments of the first experiment. The following period of deeping stem cuttings namely 15, 30, and 45 minute of 0.25 % M-Dext and NASA fertilizers were used as the treatments of the second experiment. Untuk mampu memenuhi kebutuhan industri benang sutera dalam negeri, pemerintah perlu mendorong petani ulat sutera untuk meningkatkan produksi kokon. Upaya peningkatan produksi kokon bisa ditempuh melalui cara intensifikasi dan ekstensifikasi. Upaya intensifikasi dapat ditempuh melalui cara pemberian nutrisi makanan melalui pemupukan, sedangkan upaya ekstensifikasi dapat ditempuh melalui perluasan kebun murbei. Bahan perbanyakan tanaman murbei bisa berupa benih dan stek batang. Stek batang sebagai bahan perbanyakan tanaman lebih umum dilakukan. Penelitian pengaruh pupuk terhadap pertumbuhan stek murbei dilakukan dalam kondisi rumah kaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk terhadap produktivitas tanaman khususnya pertumbuhan daun dan akar. Jenis pupuk yang diuji dalam penelitian ini adalah pupuk organik dan pupuk anorganik. Pupuk organik yang diuji bermerk dagang M-Dext, NASA, dan Hormonik, serta pupuk kandang, sedangkan jenis pupuk anorganik yang diuji adalah Urea, TSP, dan KCl. Adapun dosis pupuk organik adalah campuran 5 lt MDext + 30 kg pupuk kandang per Ha, 12 lt M-Dext + 80 kg pupuk kandang per Ha, 20 lt M-Dext + 130 kg pupuk kandang per Ha, 5 lt NASA + 2.5 lt Hormonik per Ha, 12 lt NASA + 6 lt Hormonik per Ha, 20 lt NASA + 10 lt Hormonik per Ha. Sedangkan dosis pupuk anorganik adalah campuran 25 kg Urea + 12.5 kg TSP + 12.5 kg KCl per Ha, 75 kg Urea + 37.5 kg TSP + 37.5 kg KCl per Ha, 125 kg Urea + 62.5 kg TSP + 62.5 kg KCl per Ha.
