Red cherry shrimp Neocaridina denticulata sinensis is one of ornamental fishes which is cultivated in ponds with low stocking density. The culture have to be intensified in order to fulfill the increasing demand of ornamental fish. This experiment was aimed to obtain optimal stocking density in intensive culture of red cherry shrimp. The initial size of the shrimps was 1,41±0.13 cm in length and 0,04±0.01 g in weight. The shrimps were reared at 12 tanks sized of 50x30x25 cm with double bottom filter and filled with 20 cm height of water. The treatments was stocking density of 200, 400, 600, 800 shrimp/m2. The shrimps were fed on pellet at rate of 5% body weight/day. The result showed that stocking density did not significantly affect survival rate and coefficient of variation (p>0.05), but significantly affected growth of absolute length, specific growth rate, and feed efficiency (p<0.05). Economic efficiency showed that 800 shrimp/m2 of stocking density gave the best result of R/C ratio.en
