The Analysis of Ship Visits, Production and Fish Prices Relationship at Brondong Fishing Port

Abstract

As one of the factors that influence the dynamics of capture fisheries, the influence of market activities conditions to the dynamics of fishing is still rarely studied. Based on this reason, this study will be conducted to analyze the influence of market activities particularly price fluctuations to the dynamics of capture fisheries and vise versa. To answer these objectives the study was conducted in Brondong Fishing Port. The data was collected by purposive sampling. The result of this study show that the fish distribution between producer and consumer was very simple. Fish landing actually didn’t affect to all fish price significantly. For red snapper and big eye, the number of fish landing negativelly affect to fish price, it mean if fish landing increase the fish price will decrease and vise versa. On the other hand the fish landing of scads, false travelly and yellowtail didn’t affect to fish price significantly. The other result of this study also show that fish price generally didn’t affect to fishing trip.
