      Abstract
      Penelitian bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeterminasi status terkini penyakit busuk pangkal batang kelapa sawit (BPB) di lndonesia dan keragaman mikroorganisme rhizosfer pada berbagai keadaan ekologi kebun kelapa sawit, serta mengisolasi agens biokontrol terhadap G. boninense ; (2) menganalisis keragaman genetik agens biokontrol ; (3) mengkaji rnekanisrne hiperparasitisme, antibiosis, dan enzirnatis dari agens biokontrol yang berperan dalam antagonisme terhadap G. boninense ; dan (4) mengevaluasi keefektifan tiga agens biokontrol superior dalam mengendalikan penyakit BPB di rumah kaca maupun di lapangan yang telah terinfestasi patogen.
       
      The objectives of this reseach were: (1) to determine recent status of basal stem rot disease (BSR) of oil palm in Indonesia and the diversity of rhizosphere microorganisms from various oil palm plantations, and to find biocontrol agents againts G. boninense, (2) to analyze genetic diversity of the biocontrol agents, (3) to study the mechanism of hyperparasitism, antibiosis, and enzymes, and (4) to evaluate the effectiveness of three superior biocontrol agents for controlling basal stem rot disease in greenhouse and in the field.
