Pengembangan Ekowisata Berbasis Ekosistem Di Danau Palau Kakaban Kabupaten Beraa, Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

Ecotourisms are leisure activities that focused on natural tourisms in ~ervation area that contribute to local inhibitant wealthy and education. The alflS of this research were to conserve the endemic of aquatic organisms (jellyfish alld other fish species),and appropriate parameters such as water transparancy, 1+ depth and substrates to formule the strategic development for ecotourism in tIS lake of Kakaban Island, Berau District, East Kalimantan. This research was c~ucted in April to May 2009. The observation area were devided into 9 st~ons, jellyfish was captured by trapping-net vertically to analyse its abundance ail dominance index, then mangrove coverage area observed at each station. ~ile the area carrying capacity analysis based on visitor potential, activities a#f.a, and spent-time prediction for snorkling and diving in Kakaban Lake. Finally, SI"OT analysis was used to formulate a strategic planning of ecotourism dfiyelopment in the lake of Kakaban. ;. The result through the SWOT analysis gained 6 basicly strategic that f&mulated by Quantitative Strategic Planning Management (QSPM) based on its p~orities, are; (1) seriously effort from all stakeholders (government. NGOs, rt§orts, and local people) for planning, conducting. and developing ecotourism in t~ Kalc:aban lake (2) optimize every stakeholder roles in understanding the relationship of conservation and environmental sustainablity (3) support the marine ecotourism worked by real policy that appropriate to the conservation norms (5) totally understand and support the inhibit ant characters that hope for sustainable utilization by conservation policy (6) stablize the areal management of Kakaban Lake through the implementation of conservation mandated legally and sustainablity development for marine ecotourisms.
