Uji Efektivitas Penambahan Beberapa Jenis Pupuk Organik Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Pembungaan Bunga Potong Gerbera (Gerbera Jamesonii) Var. Red Ruby

Abstract

The research aimed to study the effectiveness of addition some types of organic fertilizers on growth and flowering of Gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii) cut flower var. Red Ruby. This research was conducted from March 2010 to December 2010 at Balai Penelitian Tanaman Hias (BALITHI) Segunung, West Java. This research was used single factor treatment that arranged in randomized block design enviroment. Organic fertilizers was used consist of three types (chicken manure, goat manure, and green manure). The treatments were administered in the form of top soil volume ratio with certain type of organic fertilizers. The result showed that addition some type of organic fertilizers are not significantly affected to some variable (the number of sucker, the lenght and width of leaves, leaf dry weight, the number of flower, stalk flower diameter, vase life of flower). The addition of green manure with volume ratio of 1:1 and 1:3 increases the amount of leaf growth. The addition of chicken manure with volume ratio of 1:2 increases flower diameter while long stalk flower increased by addition chicken manure at volume ratio of 1:1. Treament with addition goat manure at volume ratio 1:1 showed the fastest of initiation time in flowering.
