Green tea (Camellia sinensis) exhibited antioxidant activity. The purpose of study was to determine antioxidant capacity of the most active green tea leaves fraction using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) and cyclic voltammetry methods. Methanol crude extract of the sample showed antioxidant activity higher than the acetone extract. Fractionation of the methanol extract by preparative thin layer chromatography resulted 10 fractions. Among the 10 fractions, fraction 2 was the most active fraction with inhibition percentage of 74.78%. Similarly, cyclic voltammetry method showed that fraction 2 was the most active on anodic area of 2.2710 μA.s. The result of phytochemical tests showed that the most active fraction contain flavonoids and tannins.
