      Abstract
      Elaeidobius kamerunicus is the effective pollinators of oil palm plants. Weevil pollinator, E. kamerunicus in the plantation is useful to increase fruit set. Continuity of the oil palm pollination require minimal induvidual of the weevil. This study aimed to study visiting frequency of E. kamerunicus on oil palm’s female flowers age seven years. Visiting frequency of E. kamerunicus were observed by fixed sample method in 10 minutes using time blocks, which were in the morning (09:00-10:00 am), afternoon (13:00-14:00 pm), and evening (16:00-17:00 pm). Environmental parameters also were measured. The results showed that the highest weevil visiting frequency to female flowers was occured in the morning (121 weevils/10 minutes). Visiting frequency of the weevils in the afternoon (23 weevils/10 minutes) and evening (17 weevil/10 minutes) were lower than that in the morning. The weevil’s visiting frequency related significantly to temperature and wind speed.
       
      Elaeidobius kamerunicus adalah kumbang polinator efektif pada tanaman kelapa sawit. Keberadaan kumbang penyerbuk kelapa sawit di perkebunan sangat diperlukan dalam meningkatkan pembentukan buah untuk menjamin kelangsungan penyerbukan pada kelapa sawit, diperlukan kumbang dengan jumlah optimum. Frekuensi kunjungan kumbang E. kamerunicus menentukan penyerbukan pada kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari frekuensi kunjungan kumbang E. kamerunicus pada bunga betina tanaman kelapa sawit umur tujuh tahun. Pengamatan frekuensi kunjungan kumbang dilakukan dengan fix method selama 10 menit, dengan menggunakan blok waktu, yaitu pagi (09.00-10.00), siang (13.00-14.00), dan sore (16.00-17.00). Parameter lingkungan juga di ukur selama pengamatan kumbang. Frekuensi kunjungan kumbang ke bunga betina tertinggi (121 kumbang/10 menit) terjadi pada pagi hari. Kunjungan pada siang hari (23 kumbang/10 menit) dan sore hari (17 kumbang/10 menit) lebih rendah dibandingkan pagi hari. Frekuensi kunjungan kumbang berkaitan secara signifikan dengan suhu dan kecepatan angin
