      Abstract
      The aim of the research was to determine the cultural values, parental acceptance-rejection, and social development of 3-5 years old children at Kampung Adat Urug families, Bogor.This research involved 60 samples that were selected with propotional random sampling.The samples were chosen from intact families with fathers as the head of the family and mother as primary caregiver at Kampung Adat Urug families who had children aged 3-5 years. Data collected by interview and observation. Some cultural values associated with parenting among which are suggestions and the prohibition in parenting, relationships between parents and children, and parenting by genderrelated task. Parental Acceptance-Rejection consist of affection, aggression, neglect, and rejection. Parental Acceptance-Rejection instrument was modified from Rohner (1986). Children’s social development were measured by Vineland Social Maturity Scale (VSMS). Data was analyzed by descriptive and statistically analysis. The results showed that mostly parents in this research applied Parental Acceptance which indicated that they were affection need and warm. Girlsmore accepted and parents more likely to be warm than to boys. More than a half samples had social development in moderate categorize. Girls have better social development than boys. There was no significant correlation between parental accepatance-rejection and social development of children ages 3-5 years.
       
      Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis nilai budaya, pengasuhan penerimaanpenolakan, dan perkembangan sosial anak usia 3-5 tahun di Kampung Adat Urug, Bogor. Contoh dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu dan anak masing-masing sebanyak 60 contoh yang dipilih secara proportional random sampling. Responden dari penelitian ini adalah ibu yang merupakan pengasuh utama dari anak yang berusia 3-5 tahun di Kampung Adat Urug. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara kepada ibu dan pengamatan kepada ibu dan anak. Beberapa nilai budaya yang berkaitan dengan pengasuhan anak diantaranya adalah larangan dan anjuran dalam pengasuhan, hubungan antara orang tua dan anak, serta pengasuhan berdasarkan gender yang terkait pembagian tugas. Instrumen pengasuhan penerimaan-penolakan dimodifikasi dari instrumen Rohner (1986). Perkembangan sosial anak diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen Vineland Social Maturity Scale (VSMS). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan analisis inferensia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh ibu dalam penelitian ini menerapkan pengasuhan penerimaan yang diindikasikan dari pemberian kehangatan. Orang tua lebih memberikan kehangatan kepada anak perempuan dibandingkan kepada anak laki-laki. Lebih dari separuh anak terkategori cukup baik dalam perkembangan sosial. Perkembangan sosial anak perempuan lebih tinggi dibandingkan anak laki-laki. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengasuhan penerimaan-penolakan dengan perkembangan sosial anak usia 3-5 tahun.
