Kayan Mentarang National Park laid on 900-1100m from sea level. Highland river-water usually categorized as oligotrophic waters which lack of nutrients. However litter from terrestrial vegetation might become the source of organic matter for the aquatic ecosystem. Environment condition influences the life of biota inside them, include plankton. The surveys were carried out to learn the diversity of river plankton. There were found at least 59 genus from five class of phytoplankton (Cyanophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Euglenophyceae, and Bacillariophyceae). There were also found 22 kinds of Zooplankton from five groups (Rotifera, Protozoa, Nematode, Crustacea, and Gastropod larvae). Some specimens are still in process of identification.
