The library is an institution that serves as central collector, processing and dissemination of information. Today libraries face the challenge to provide better service and faster. Competitors have developed far more advanced such as google.com. Therefore it is necessary to utilize a front-end functions of the library as a vital function to resolve the issue. Facebook is an opportunity to be the answer. Facebook is relational, up to date, personal, flexible and mobile. This study developed a front-end library system through Facebook. This study developed a front-end library system through Facebook by exploring the features of Facebook and develop a Facebook application that can perform the library front-end functions. Development methodology is based on the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) consisting of stages of investigation, analysis, design, implementation and maintenance where the research is done to the prototype manufacturing stage. System testing conducted by black-box testing method. This research was successfully explored a Facebook feature and built a Facebook application that can perform the library front-end functions. Library front-end system through Facebook is able to build relationships with users, maintaining user and improve the quality of relationships with users. Perpustakaan adalah lembaga yang berfungsi menghimpun, mengolah dan menyebarkan informasi. Pada masa kini perpustakaan menghadapi tantangan untuk memberikan pelayanan yang lebih baik dan lebih cepat. Kemajuan teknologi search engine telah menghadirkan pesaing baru bagi layanan perpustakaan yang telah mengembangkan kemampuan layanan pencarian informasi jauh lebih maju seperti google.com, sementara masih banyak perpustakaan yang tetap menganut konsep layanan yang tertutup, lokal, tidak praktis dan non-kolaboratif. Oleh karena itu dipandang perlu untuk memberdayakan fungsi layanan depan (front-end) perpustakaan sebagai fungsi layanan vital untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Facebook merupakan peluang yang baik untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut mengingat Facebook bersifat relasional, up to date, personal dan fleksibel.
