The Aplication of ALOS PALSAR Image 50 m resolution and ALOS AVNIR-2 Image 50 m resolution for Land Cover Identification at Tuban, Blora, Rembang, and Bojonegoro
Abstract
ALOS (Advance Land Observing Satellite) is the biggest satelite imagery which is developed by JAXA’s Tanegashima Space Center. Its carried 3 sensor, there are optical sensor with 2,5 m resolution carried by Panchromatic Remote Sensing Instrument for Stereo Mapping (PRISM) , optical sensor with 10 m resolution carried by Advanced Visible and Near Infrared Radiometer type-2 (AVNIR-2), and radar sensor with 10 m – 100 m resolution carried by Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR). The objectives of this research are to compare optic and SAR data with same resolution for landcover identify. The research is located in Tuban, Blora, Rembang, and Bojonegoro district. The result of this research expected to solve the degradation of forest problems by land structuring and sustainable forest management. The method of this research are analysis of field observation with discriminant analysis, ALOS PALSAR image HH-HV-HH/HV RGB combination with 50 m resolution and ALOS AVNIR image 3-4-2 RGB combination with 50 m resolution visual analysis, separability analysis and accuration analysis. Visual intrepretation of ALOS AVNIR-2 image showed better information than ALOS PALSAR image. It is shown by seeing the result of ALOS AVNIR-2 image 3-4-2 RGB combination with 50 m resolution landcover classification which has 8 type of landcover (water, dry land farming, mining limestone, logged, rice, mixed farms, settlements, and teak plantation) whereas ALOS PALSAR image HH-HV-HH/HV RGB combination with 50 m resolution has seven type of landcover (water, dry land farming, rice, mixed farms, settlements, open area and teak plantation). The result of KAPPA accuration are 74,40% for ALOS PALSAR image HH-HV-HH/HV RGB combination with 50 m resolution and 81,62% for ALOS AVNIR-2 image 3-4-2 RGB combination with 50 m resolution. Digital classification of ALOS PALSAR image is better than ALOS AVNIR-2 image. It is shown by the N – Correct and Proportion correct from digital number of each image, there are 79;58,5% for ALOS PALSAR image with 50 m resolution and 74;54,8% for ALOS AVNIR-2 image with 50 m resolution. ALOS (Advance Land Observing Satellite) adalah satelit penginderaan jauh terbesar yang dikembangkan dan diluncurkan oleh JAXA’s Tanegashima Space Center yang membawa 3 sensor di dalamnya yaitu Panchromatic Remote Sensing Instrument for Stereo Mapping (PRISM) dengan resolusi 2,5 meter yang memiliki sensor optik, Advanced Visible and Near Infrared Radiometer type-2 (AVNIR-2), resolusi 10 meter yang memiliki sensor optik dan Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) resolusi 10 meter dan 100 meter yang memiliki sensor radar. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk membandingkan kemampuan citra ALOS PALSAR resolusi 50 m kombinasi RGB HH-HV-HH/HV dan citra ALOS AVNIR-2 resolusi 50 m kombinasi RGB 3-4-2 dalam mengidentifikasi penutupan lahan pada studi kasus di Kabupaten Tuban, Blora, Rembang dan Bojonegoro. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan laju kerusakan hutan melalui penatagunaan lahan yang sesuai dan pengelolaan hutan yang lestari. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis identifikasi objek di lapangan, analisis diskriminan, analisis visual Citra ALOS PALSAR resolusi 50 m kombinasi RGB HH-HV-HH/HV skala 1:50.000 dan citra ALOS AVNIR-2 resolusi 50 m kombinasi RGB 3-4-2 skala 1:50000, analisis separabilitas dan analisis uji akurasi. Hasil analisis secara visual citra ALOS AVNIR-2 resolusi 50 m kombinasi RGB 3-4-2 menampilkan 8 kelas tutupan lahan, yaitu tutupan lahan badan air, pertanian lahan kering, tambang kapur, bekas tebangan, sawah, kebun campuran, pemukiman, dan hutan tanaman jati, sedangkan citra ALOS PALSAR resolusi 50 m kombinasi RGB HH-HV-HH/HV hanya mampu menampilkan 7 kelas tutupan lahan, yaitu pemukiman, sawah, kebun campuran, pertanian lahan kering, lahan terbuka, badan air, dan hutan tanaman jati. Nilai uji akurasi kappa yang dihasilkan oleh citra ALOS PALSAR resolusi 50 m, yaitu sebesar 74,40%, sedangkan citra ALOS AVNIR-2 resolusi 50 m menghasilkan nilai uji akurasi kappa, yaitu sebesar 81,62%. Klasifikasi secara digital citra ALOS PALSAR resolusi 50 m menghasilkan hasil yang lebih baik dengan nilai N – Correct 79 dan proportion correct 58,5%.
