Strategi pengembangan kota Jambi menuju Riverfront city

Abstract

The development of social, culture and economic at Jambi City is inseparable with Batanghari River. The existence of Batanghari river plays important role in economic development at Jambi City. The aims of this research were to identify the potential of Batanghari River as well as its problems, to identify and analyze stakeholders that have roles in the development of Jambi City towards a riverfront city, and to formulate the strategy of the development of Jambi City towards a riverfront city. The results of this research showed that Batanghari River has potentials to be developed as a riverfront city. The development is devided into three zone including natural zone, semi-natural zone, and multipurpose zone. There were twenty one stakeholders that have roles in the development of Batanghari River. The hierarcy strategies of the development of Jambi City towards a riverfront city are as follows emproving the coordination among the stakeholders, community development, law enforcement, making perfect the watershed of Batanghari River, revitalizing of Batanghari River and developing the eco-industrial park.
