Pengembangan uji cepat vigor benih jagung ( Zea mays l. ) dengan alat pengukur laju respirasi kosmotektor
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to obtain the method of corn seed (Zea mays. L) quick vigor testing by cosmotector (respiration measuring tools). This research was conducted in Seed Science and Technology Laboratory, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University, Darmaga from February 2011 to May 2011. Simple Regression and Correlation Analysis was follow to conducted the experiment, consisted of six combination treatment between four level of corn seed vigor and the time of seed moistened also seed incubated by oven (60ºC), i.e. O1 : seed incubated by oven during 15 minutes, O2 : seed incubated by oven during 30 minutes, O3 : seed incubated by oven during 45 minutes, L1: seed moistened during 10 hours, L2 : seed moistened during 15 hours, L3 : seed moistened during 20 hours. These treatments were given to trigger the respiration’s rate of corn seed. The result showed that there are positive correlations between vigor and viability parameters with respiration’s rate of corn seed. The method that has a real correlation value was shown by L2 (seed moistened during 15 hours). It can used to detect the status of corn seed vigor and viability by its respiration’s rate.
